This next award is presented in honour of the thousands of volunteers from all across Dudley borough, who make a massive difference every day, to the health of our local communities.
Paul Maubach, Chief Operating Officer of Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group, read out the citation for this award
Their nominator said:
“Some volunteers are extra special because of the enormous effort made in overcoming family tragedy, personal depression, and physical disability. Because of these difficulties, they can relate to clients who have suffered their own problems and provide tremendous support.”
These volunteers really are an inspiration and it is for their dedicated activity and commitment to improving people’s lives and health, that we were delighted to ask them to accept the 2014 Health Communities Award.
Her nominator said:
“Marie is a beautician who gives her time to the Hope Centre, offering free massages to people who have suffered depression, mental health issues, or are genuinely in need. She does this for no reward, giving people special treatments and helping them to feel good about themselves. Marie is a great listener and she helps to bring joy into people’s lives.”
Marie is obviously a very special lady, who loves to help people and makes such a difference to the people the Hope Centre supports.
